According to myth, Athena was born fully grown and armoured from the head of Zeus, the king of the gods. She is often depicted wearing a helmet and carrying a spear or shield. Athena was highly revered by the ancient Greeks and was often called upon for guidance and protection in war, wisdom, and craftsmanship.
